Kendall Picado Fallas

Kendall Picado Fallas is an endurance athlete from Tarrazú, Costa Rica, shaped by a childhood spent working on mountain coffee farms, where hard work and discipline were part of everyday life. Specializing in backyard ultra racing, Kendall is known for his patience, mental resilience, and ability to push far beyond perceived limits. At just 21 years old, he became the youngest athlete to surpass 200 miles in a backyard ultra, earning the title of Costa Rican National Champion. When he’s not logging endless miles, Kendall is focused on growing his family’s coffee brand and inspiring others to believe that no matter where you come from, big dreams are within reach.

What is your career background?
I grew up on coffee farms in the mountains of Costa Rica, where I learned the value of hard work early on. After high school, I spent two years in Australia working, studying, and training for ultra-distance races. Today, I’m grateful to pursue life as an endurance athlete while also helping grow my family’s coffee brand.

Where are you located?
Tarrazú, Costa Rica—where my days are split between steep trails, coffee farms, and long training miles.

What is your career?
I’m a professional endurance athlete specializing in ultra-distance racing, with a focus on backyard ultras that test patience, resilience, and mental strength as much as physical endurance.

What is your goal in life?
I’ve always wanted to help others. Through running and suffering, I try to show myself and others how capable we really are—and that most limits are self-imposed. No matter how small your town is, big dreams are possible.

Biggest accomplishments?
I specialize in backyard ultra racing, a format that demands extreme patience and mental toughness. In April 2025, at just 21 years old, I became the youngest athlete to surpass 200 miles in a backyard ultra, earning the Costa Rican National Championship. A few weeks later, I completed 235 miles to become co-champion at the BPN Go One More Ultra in Austin, Texas. I’ve competed in five backyard ultras total, winning three, and have many more miles ahead.

How do you use KANEs as part of your active recovery?
Anytime I’m not running, I’m wearing KANEs—traveling, walking, grabbing coffee, or heading to the beach. After long hours on my feet, I need something comfortable, easy to slip on, and supportive for recovery. Plus, they look cool.

What is your preferred KANE colorway?
White/Gray Speckle. It’s clean, elegant, and works for any occasion.
